I just wanted to say that the recent dog/cat food recalls have made me even happier with my choice to use Hagen products. I have always fed Nutrience to my two cats (7+ years) and my dog, happily adopted almost 2 years ago.
The foods are always top quality, great value, and (as I researched and is noted on your website) made from North American sourced ingredients. Even my vet supported my choice over the more expensive 'specialty' foods he sells at his clinic, calling Nutrience balanced nutrition, with no filler or potentially allergenic ingredients. He stated it to be as good as the clinic 'boutique' foods, but far more reasonably priced. That was good to hear, but the main proof, of course, is how well my pets are doing. They're always very healthy (good fur, teeth and weight), energetic and they eat well.
So, I just wanted to pass along my praises, and that I'm more than ever a true fan and supporter of your products! I feel horrible for the families who've lost their pets, and glad I haven't had to worry about this myself.
Regards,
Patrick Phelan
We started using Nutrience many moons ago with Luna Cat, who unfortunately we had to put down a little while back. After losing Luna, we just had to adopt another cat, coming home to an empty home was painful, and it's not that we disregarded Luna, we just missed her dearly. We did adopt another cat, Patches, very shortly after and had quite a bit of Nutrience left over, so we started Patches on it, and to this day, both Kitty and Patches enjoy Nutrience, and I'm just ever so grateful that you are a North American based company who uses only North American sourced ingredients.
My heart does go out to those who lost treasured pets to this sad, sad incident. My sister lost Zoë Cat to the poisoning, and Merrick Cat was at the vet for 10 days, recovering.
I'm sticking with Nutrience, now and in the future...

When we got our Dog Brindy about 3 years ago we, like nervous first time parents, extensively
researched which dog food to feed her and finally settled on Nutrience Supreme to be the clear winner of quality and value...and it was a food that Brindy liked!
About 6 months after that, we switched our Cat Dasha from a competitive brand to Nutrience Supreme.
Both animals have thrived on the Nutrience Supreme and continue to like their food.
I don't typically write letters like this (perhaps I should) but wanted to let you know that I've beeneven more grateful during these days of "pet food recalls" that the choice we made 3 years ago has proven to be a good one.
We appreciate the quality ingredients and care that go into Nutrience. I appreciate being able to read on your website such statements as:
- "only North American sourced grains and no animal by-products"
- "No wheat glutens are used to ingredient split the proteins in our foods. Only high quality chicken, lamb, duck or fish are used."
Keep up the good work...you've earned our faith in Nutrience Supreme and Hagen and our continued consumer loyalty.
Thanks,

Three months ago, I brought home a six-week-old puppy from the SPCA. Her skin was dry and she was thin (most puppies are fat) with short, coarse, dull black and white hair. After a few weeks on Nutrience dog food, the difference in her skin and coat was amazing. Her skin is no longer dry and flaky and her hair, although still coarse, is now soft, full and shiny. She loves Nutrience Puppy food so much that she does 'tricks for treats' for it. At four months she sits, lies down, stands up, rolls over, sits pretty (with some help, as she doesn't have enough balance yet), speaks, fetches and she is learning to jump through a hoop. Remember that she has learned all this for handfuls of Nutrience Puppy food! Thanks for my healthy happy puppy.

I just had to write to you to let you know how extremely satisfied we are with your line of products. In December, we adopted a new puppy, a Dogue de Bordeaux. The pet store recommended that we feed him a competitive brand, so we did. As soon as we took him home, we noticed that he frequently spit up involuntarily. He was acting quite normally (playing, sleeping, curiosity, etc), but the spitting up was becoming a real problem (4-5 times/day!!). We called our vet to see if she recommended switching foods and, of course, she wanted us to take him in for "testing". I knew in my heart our puppy was NOT sick, so we went ahead and changed his food to Nutrience Large Breed Puppy. Well, from the moment he chewed up his very first bite of food, he hasn't spit up SINCE!!!! And it's been over a week now! We are so amazed and so THANKFUL!!! From now on, we'll be feeding our dog Nutrience, as it has truly proven to be the very best food for him and has helped his tummy problem 100%!! Thanks again!
